Are you facing a moral dilemma in your job or tempted to do something unethical? Don’t compromise. Do the right thing. Choose righteousness.
Every time you have the opportunity to choose between right and wrong in the workplace consider the following five verses.
Psalm 1:6: “For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous.”
Proverbs 10:3: “The Lord does not let the righteous go hungry.”
Proverbs 10:6: “Blessings crown the head of the righteous.”
Proverbs 11:23: “The desire of the righteous ends only in good.”
Proverbs 29:2: “When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice.”
The righteous person will never go hungry. They will thrive. Righteous people standout in the world and others rejoice in their success. God watches over those who live a righteous life. The righteous way ends only in good.
Know that doing what is sound, reputable, and honest will always win the day.
God has given you a moral compass to point you in the right direction which will be the most fruitful direction. He has equipped you to take the straight course which is always the most certain course.
God’s value system never fails.
Do what is right according to God’s Word and trust the results of your decisions to his sovereignty.
Isaiah 26:7 says, “The path of the righteous is level.” A “level” path has fewer obstacles and yields a more productive journey. It is the most reliable path to get you to your desired destination.
Sometimes doing what is right in your job will result in conflict with a co-worker or customer. When this happens trust in Psalm 34:19 which promises, “A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.”
Ask yourself these questions: What would my life be like today if I had always made the righteous choice? What painful experiences would I have avoided? What potential blessings have I missed? What are the righteous choices in the decisions I am facing now?
